At LJK Counseling, our mission is to provide compassionate, client-centered mental health consulting and professional development training that empower individuals, organizations, and communities. We are dedicated to fostering mental well-being by offering expert guidance, evidence-based strategies, and tailored solutions that promote personal growth, emotional resilience, and workplace wellness. Through our services, we aim to reduce stigma, increase mental health literacy, and create supportive environments that nurture mental health for all. Lindsay Kusy is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), certified Compassion Fatigue Professional, Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist, and Level 2 Clinical Trauma Professional and an Adjunct Professor. Lindsay received her MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis.
Lindsay began her career working with individuals with a dual diagnosis of intellectual disability (or Autism Spectrum Disorder) and a mental health diagnosis. Lindsay went on to create and direct the Intensive Behavioral Intervention program and outpatient clinic at Damar Services, a residential facility for youth with an intellectual disability (or Autism Spectrum Disorder) and a mental health diagnosis. She briefly returned to Medicaid Waiver directing the Behavior Management program with Indiana Mentor before supervising school-based services with Aspire, a community mental health center. Along with a private practice, Lindsay is the Education/Behavioral Health Coordinator and Rendering Provider for Cummins Behavioral Health Services, a community mental health center in central Indiana.
Lindsay opened LJK counseling in 2021 where she provides private therapeutic services, mental health consulting services, and provides trainings on mental health topics. Since 2022, Lindsay has provided over 100 trainings on mental health topics. This includes providing trainings for Indiana Family to Family state Conference, Indiana School Health Network Conference, Indiana School Social Work State Conference, Indiana Non-Public Educator's Conference, Indiana Youth Institute, Indiana CEC State Conference, the National Federation of Families Annual Conference, as well as for educators in multiple school districts around the Indianapolis and surrounding area. Lindsay partners with local agencies to provide Mental Health Consulting.
Lindsay joined her alma mater, University of Indianapolis, as an adjunct profession in May 2024. She teaches in the Department of Counseling Master's program.
